20, August 1921

Today i set sail on the “L'explorateur.” I left early in the morning at about 3 o'clock so Ari wouldn’t hear me. [VOICEOVER: little did I know, I was not the only one stirring to get out] I’m waiting in customs, looking for someone selling an extra ticket, but I’ve seen no one so far. Ah, a few of the ship’s crew have asked me to see my ticket.

“A. Admit you don’t have a ticket.

B. Refuse.”

[A or B] The ship’s crew grabs you. You put up a struggle [X] and attempt to run away, but security is gaurding the entrance. You’re trapped, and passengers are watching you. The main goon grabs you forcefully, pulling you to his face and spitting out “Scum like you. They make me sick.” He throws you to his men and they take you away into a dark room. The main goon goes to stand next to a hooded figure who give you an oddly familiar smirk.

The screen fades from black to show you in a jail cell. The camera pans up so you are in third person, and you are finally able to move freely. The room is small, but there are some things to note. You see a lantern, which you grab. A book, which you flip through. There’s a piece of paper. On it is a sketch of a relic of some sorts. 

Just as you put the note down, there’s an explosion, screaming, and the hooded figure you saw earlier is standing in front of your cell, looking anxiously back and forth. You go up to talk to them, and you are thrown into a cutscene.

YOU: “What’s happening?”

FIGURE: “We don’t have much time.” [PULLS OUT A SET OF KEYS AND OPENS YOUR DOOR]

YOU: “What the-”

FIGURE: “COME ON! FOLLOW ME!”

Given back control, your mission is to follow the figure, avoid security, and not die from stray explosions/fires. You see, on your way through the long corridors, prisoners begging to be saved. You cannot dwell though. At one point, you arrive near two double doors, guarded with security holding guns. [CUTSCENE] One grabs you and you are thrown into a quicktime event.

[X] To struggle! (there is no way to get out. No matter how much struggle, you cannot loosen his grasp) The hooded figure comes up and stabs the man, who drops to the floor. You see the other security is on the floor, covered with blood.

[VOICEOVER] I wonder who this man is… Taking the time to save me but not anyone else. Why me? Where are they taking me? Where is there to go?

[FIGURE HANDS YOU AN OUTFIT. TELLS YOU TO CHANGE QUICKLY. THE SCREEN FADES AND YOU ARE IN A SECURITY OUTFIT. THE FIGURE SMILES AND OPENS THE DOORS, AND A BRIGHT LIGHT FADES THE SCREEN TO WHITE WHERE WORDS READ “Prologue - COMPLETE”]
